Role: Associate Principal, Data Science (Pharma)

Location: Chicago, IL

Hybrid/On-site/Remote: Hybrid (On-site 3-4 days a week)

Salary: Up to $220k base

Clutch is looking for an experienced Associate Principal with Pharma experience for a consultancy client of ours.

Position Overview:

As an Associate Principal, you will be responsible for the overall success of client engagements within the pharmaceutical industry. This includes understanding client business objectives, leading the development of analytical solutions, presenting recommendations to senior leadership, and managing the financial health of client accounts. You will be a trusted advisor to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and that our solutions deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities :

Client Success Champion: Drive the delivery of actionable insights that directly contribute to client success, fostering long-term partnerships.

Leadership & Mentorship: Lead client engagements, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and mentor internal teams to develop impactful analytics solutions.

Analytical Expertise: Translate business needs into actionable analytics, develop compelling insights, and present clear and concise recommendations to client leadership.

Account Management: Oversee client accounts, including growth strategy, P&L management, resource planning, and escalation management.

Collaboration & Communication: Ensure alignment between client and internal teams by clearly communicating strategy, delivery plans, and proactively addressing potential risks.

Pharma Industry Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Oncology, patient analytics, and therapeutic areas like General Medicine, to deliver innovative solutions.

Solution Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Brand Analytics, Data Science, Market Research) to design and implement integrated solutions.

Analytical Rigor: Recommend appropriate analytical techniques, leveraging deep pharma data knowledge to drive impactful results.

Program Management: Manage large, cross-functional programs, working effectively with senior stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Global Mindset: Experience working on global projects and within a global delivery model, coordinating effectively across diverse teams and time zones.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the ability to translate business challenges into actionable analytics solutions.

• Extensive experience in Oncology, patient analytics, and therapeutic areas like General Medicine, with expertise in commercial healthcare analytics.

• Proven ability to synthesize complex information and communicate strategic "so what" and "now what" insights effectively to senior leadership.

• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Expertise in recommending and applying appropriate analytical techniques, leveraging deep pharma data knowledge.

• Excellent relationship-building skills, particularly in complex, high-pressure environments.

• Proven track record of managing and growing client accounts, including P&L management, resource planning, and escalation handling.

• Ability to thrive in ambiguous and changing environments.

• Demonstrated experience managing large, cross-functional programs and working with senior stakeholders.

• Experience working on global projects and within a global delivery model.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from a top-tier university with a consistent, outstanding academic record OR Bachelor’s degree with 10-15 years of relevant work experience.

• Advanced degree or MBA strongly preferred.

• 10+ years of relevant experience managing projects or customer engagements in a fast-paced environment.

Travel:

Must be open to traveling up to 80% of the time
