Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Patient Service Representative at MD Aesthetics and Dermatology PLLC in Chicago, IL. The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for appointment scheduling, insurance verification, maintaining phone etiquette, and utilizing medical terminology in daily tasks.

  • Adhere to and implement company policies and procedures
  • Follow instructions and enforce operational policies
  • Proficiency in Excel, iPads, and general computer skills
  • Answer phones and emails, greet patients
  • Schedule, confirm, and book appointments
  • Check patients in and out
  • Collect payments and explain insurance benefits
  • Verify insurance, estimate costs, and handle patient responsibility
  • Process referrals and coordinate care
  • Scan, enter data, and perform clerical duties

Qualifications

  • Appointment Scheduling and Phone Etiquette skills
  • Insurance Verification and Medical Office experience
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a dermatology or medical office setting is a plus
  • High school diploma required, additional certifications preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Computer skills (Excel, internet, Microsoft Word, 30 WPM typing, Google/Gmail, iPads, web browsers)
  • Ability to multitask and anticipate needs
  • Solid understanding of health insurance (co-pays, deductibles, etc.)
  • Ability to pass an insurance basics screening test
  • Ability to handle high volume of work with a positive attitude
  • Team player with a professional and positive attitude
  • 1+ year of medical practice experience (independent practice preferred)
  • Dermatology or plastic surgery experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

ffice Hours

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8AM-5:30pm
  • Friday: 8 am - 3 pm
  • Saturdays: 8am-3pm, once per month
